Evolution
All living beings evolve gradually and unfold consciousness. The
essence of their being is divine and life is immortal. Theosophy
states that this involves repeated incarnations (rebirth) and that
the principle behind all growth is the law of cause and effect
(karma). Reality consists of many worlds or planes of consciousness,
the physical plane being the material or outer expression of the
divine life. Higher Sense Perception
The human faculties and senses extend beyond the physical
boundaries. Seers and sages of all traditions testify that higher
dimensions can be experienced by psychical senses, sometimes called
ESP or Higher Sense Perception. Theosophy claims that investigations
and research is possible with the trained use of these faculties,
and that it can provide insights of the greater reality, provided
they are used in service of Humanity. Enlightenment
Spiritual growth is the destiny of all human beings, and the
spiritual traditions of the world describe it as the Path of
Initiation, Holiness or Enlightenment, leading to a perfection of
human nature, called by many names: Rigpa, Samadhi, Satori, Unio
Mystica and more. Service
Spiritual values are to be lived and expressed in service of
Humanity and Life. Spirituality is in essence embodied through
qualities like forgiveness, compassion, wisdom and charity. All
these qualities are inherent in the spiritual traditions of the
world and this gives hope and vision for a better world based on
altruism and humaneness, instead of greed and materialism. Dialogue
During recent years there have been growing contacts between people
from the Theosophical and holistic groups in Denmark and Norway and
experienced individuals and groups from Christian circles. This has
evolved into different engagements, initiatives and dialogue
activities, also including individuals from other traditions and
religions. An investment in trust
Spiritual dialogue requires commitment, patience, genuine interest
and mutual respect. It is an investment in trust and a desire to
build bridges and create friendships. The aim is not to reach
agreement on all issues, nor to strive for identical views in all
respects, but to learn, listen, share and discover. The Peace creating factor
Never before has it been so obvious that there is a great need to
develop harmony and friendly co-existence between spiritual
traditions and religions, especially because they offer wisdom and
compassion to a world in physical and spiritual need. Dialogue and
interreligious encounters are therefore a powerfull peace creating
factor and a great ressource. The world urgently needs interfaith
work and it is encouraging to witness and participate in recent
developments expressed in ecomenical work, interfaith initiatives
across borders and a Parliament of the World Religions.
